You see, father is supposed to be there always. Without excuses. Because children should not deal with excuses. Children deserve their parents.
I am fortunate enough that my son's mom can fulfill duties I can't. But it doesn't excuse me. She shields me. She absorbed so much of my son's sadness I never dealt with.
